The Dynamic Nick DeWolf
If you graduated from MIT, then innovated solid state diode testing systems before anyone knew how, and then built your own company that made you wealthy enough to retire in your 30s, what would you do?
This article is featured in Issue 1 of Crease Periodical.
Nick DeWolf decided after doing all that, he’d set out and become one of the most prolific photographers you’ve never heard of. Even though he always considered himself an engineer first, his photography was shot without any of the kind of mathematical calculations or restrictions you’d imagine an award-winning contributor to the semiconductor test industry would have had.
Nick’s son-in-law has been very busily handling archival duties by scanning and organizing upwards of 100 thousand images. Yes, the “SCAN” button has been hit over 100 thousand times and he’s still going.
Since our subject began his extra-curricular hobby in and around the Boston area, hockey has been the focus of his lens. After scouring through dozens of folders, we were generously granted use of some of the most beautiful candid photos of our favorite game that we’ve ever seen.
Thanks to Steve Lundeen for doing the Lord’s work and to the entire DeWolf Estate for letting us publish a piece of something so special.
